Sharing Your Story
If JFM is going to reach its full kingdom potential, I have to reach my full kingdom potential!
“I have been given all authority in heaven and on earth. 19 Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. 20 Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Matthew 28:18b-20
“Make disciples of all the nations”
I had allowed myself to believe as long as I remained active in terms of the Great Commission “far across the globe”, it would somehow excuse me from the Great Commission to the people right in front of me.
God is calling us to share our faith with the people in our close proximity. The people with whom we’ve already established relationships. Right where we are.
“Then the eleven disciples left for Galilee, going to the mountain where Jesus had told them to go. When they saw him, they worshiped him - but some of them doubted!” Matthew 28:16-17
“For ‘Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.’ 14 But how can they call on him to save them unless they believe in him? And how can they believe in him if they have never heard about him? And how can they hear about him unless someone tells them?” Romans 10:13-14
(1) God is in the business of including! Romans 10:13-14
(2) Since God is in the business of including, I should be too! Romans 10:13-14
THE BIG 6: WWWWWH
Who should I share my story with? Everyone I have the opportunity to do so! (1 Peter 3:15-16)
What am I supposed to do? Look for opportunities to share my story and invite people into a relationship with Jesus.
When & Where? Whenever and wherever God’s Holy Spirit leads us.
Why?
Am I so captivated by Jesus that I would risk it all for Him? Am I so in love with Him that I will give anything to make Him known? Are you?
How do I share my story? ABIDE!
“Yes, I am the vine; you are the branches. Those who remain in me, and I in them, will produce much fruit. For apart from me you can do nothing. 6 Anyone who does not remain in me is thrown away like a useless branch and withers. Such branches are gathered into a pile to be burned. 7 But if you remain in me and my words remain in you, you may ask for anything you want, and it will be granted! 8 When you produce much fruit, you are my true disciples. This brings great glory to my Father.” John 15:5-8
When I’m truly abiding in Jesus, I won’t be able to help myself from sharing my story with others!
