10 because Demas has deserted me, since he loved this present world, and has gone to Thessalonica. Crescens has gone to Galatia, Titus to Dalmatia. —2 Timothy 4:10

b. He was at first carried away by the enthusiasm of sacrifice. - Colossians 4:14
c. Gradually, he left his first love (Christ) for a lesser love (the world). - 2 Timothy 4:10
d. He had a great beginning and a horrible ending becasue he lacked commitment.
Commitment: Why is it missing?
a. Some people have an ever present fear of commitment - 2 Timothy 1:7
b. There is a creeping worldliness, a desire to be a Christian, but to live like a non-Christian, not so much in the blantantly immoral area, but in lifestyle. - 1 John 2:15-17
c. Many have made commitments to the wrong things - 2 Timothy 2:4
d. The cost of true Christian commitment is too high. - 2 Timothy 2:2
