What are words or phrases you used when you were younger that are no longer used today?
How do you interpret the statistics that show spirituality in America is on the rise? Do you see this as a good or bad thing?
Read Hebrews 7:1-25. What words or phrases jump out to you as you read it? Any questions that remain unanswered?
Do you think Melchizedek was a real person? Why do you think Moses, the writer of Genesis, gives such little information about him?
How would you explain from Hebrews 7 that Melchizedek is greater than Abraham and the Levites? Why does that matter for the writer of Hebrews argument?
Why is the Priesthood and the Law tied together? How were they incredibly important for the nation of Israel? How were they weak?
Are you tempted as a Christian to justify yourself to God by your works? Honestly. Why can that be a default for us as His children? What can we do about it?
How can the phrase “drawing near to God” be a way to describe salvation? What aspects of salvation does it emphasize to you?
If Jesus were only divine, the Sovereign Lord over all things, but not human, could He save us? Why or why not?
