As Christ walks along the shores of the Sea of Galilee, why do you think He commanded Andrew and Peter: ‘Follow Me and I’ll make you fishers of men?’ How would they have understood that military command?
How big and how important was the fishing industry around the Sea of Galilee? How much of Israel and other countries benefited and depended upon fishing from this sea?
Why would these brothers be willing to ‘immediately’ leave a successful family business, pack their bags and take off with someone they had only met days earlier?
What was Mark’s purpose for including the name of Zebedee? Who was he? Who was his wife? What do we know about his family?
Was there any significance to Mark including the detail that James and John were ‘mending the nets?’
Why do you think these brothers (James and John) left their family’s business to ‘immediately’ follow Christ?
