John 7:53-8:11 -
7:53 Then each went to his own home. 1 But Jesus went to the Mount of Olives. 2 At dawn he appeared again in the temple courts, where all the people gathered around him, and he sat down to teach them. 3 The teachers of the law and the Pharisees brought in a woman caught in adultery. They made her stand before the group 4 and said to Jesus, “Teacher, this woman was caught in the act of adultery. 5 In the Law, Moses commanded us to stone such women. Now what do you say?” 6 They were using this question as a trap, in order to have a basis for accusing him. But Jesus bent down and started to write on the ground with his finger. 7 When they kept on questioning him, he straightened up and said to them, “If any one of you is without sin, let him be the first to throw a stone at her.” 8 Again he stooped down and wrote on the ground. 9 At this, those who heard began to go away one at at time, the older ones first, until only Jesus was left, with the woman still standing there. 10 Jesus straightened up and asked her, “Woman, where are they? Has not one condemned you?” 11 “No one, sir,” she said. “Then neither do I condemn you,” Jesus declared. “Go now and leave your life of sin.”

Deuteronomy 22:22 -
If a man is found sleeping with another man’s wife, BOTH THE MAN who slept with her and the woman must die. You must purge the evil from Israel.

Jeremiah 17:13 -
Lord, you are the hope of Israel; all who forsake you will be put to shame. Those who turn way fro you will be written in the dust because they have forsaken the Lord, the spring of living water.

John 7:37-38 -
37 On the last and greatest day of the Feast, Jesus stood and said in a loud voice, “If anyone is thirsty, let him come to me and drink. 38 Whoever believes in me, as the Scripture has said, streams of living water will flow from within him.”

John 3:16-17 -
16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. 17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.

Thought 01 | Jesus isn’t always who

think he is.

Thought 02 | Righteousness apart from

is impossible.

“The holier a person grows, the more tender and the more sympathetic he is with sin…throw refinement into your dealings with gross sin. Where sin is the greatest, be you the gentlest! And treat everybody hopefully.” —James Nisbet | Anglican Writer of the 1800’s

Thought 03 | Mercy and forgiveness are

of relationships.

Action Point: Live the new life of grace and truth.
