While we are waiting, God is working with an appointed time for His will to unfold.
1. God will use the
Mark 5:25-26 / CSB, “Now a woman suffering from bleeding for twelve years 26 had endured much under many doctors. She had spent everything she had and was not helped at all. On the contrary, she became worse.”
Psalm 27:14 / CSB, “Wait for the Lord; be strong, and let your heart take courage; wait for the Lord!”
Psalm 106:13 / NIV, “But they soon forgot what he had done and did not wait for his plan to unfold.”
Isaiah 40:31 / ESV, “but they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.”
Micah 7:7 / CEV, “I trust the Lord God to save me, and I will wait for him to answer my prayer.”
2. God wants me to keep my tassels at a humble and helpful length.
Mark 5: 27-28 / CSB, “Having heard about Jesus, she came up behind him in the crowd and touched his clothing. 28 For she said, “If I just touch his clothes, I’ll be made well.”
Matthew 23:5 / CSB, “They do everything to be seen by others: They enlarge their phylacteries and lengthen their tassels.”
3. God works wonders when we combine persistence with faith.
Mark 5:29-34 / CSB, “Instantly her flow of blood ceased, and she sensed in her body that she was healed of her affliction. 30 Immediately Jesus realized that power had gone out from him. He turned around in the crowd and said, “Who touched my clothes?” 31 His disciples said to him, “You see the crowd pressing against you, and yet you say, ‘Who touched me?’ 32 But he was looking around to see who had done this. 33 The woman, with fear and trembling, knowing what had happened to her, came and fell down before him, and told him the whole truth. 34 “Daughter,” he said to her, “your faith has saved you. Go in peace and be healed from your affliction.”
Luke 18:1,5b / CSB, “Now he told them a parable on the need for them to pray always and not give up…5 I will give her justice, so that she doesn’t wear me out by her persistent coming.’”
