The identity of the God we worship is the heart of the Christian faith. We believe in one God in three Persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. The New Testament is replete with divine three-ness, so even though the word ‘Trinity’ was invented later, it was invented to summarize a biblical doctrine. The doctrine of the Trinity is the church’s effective and faithful way to speak of our God, who has revealed himself as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
God is Triune

Eternally, the Father breathes out the Spirit. (John 15:26)
