What are the things that God loves and what are the things that God hates?
Love is not what God does. Love is who God is.
1 John 4:8
8 Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love
Question: If God is love, why don’t I always feel God’s love?
1. Maybe, we’re not really seeking God and God’s love
Matthew 6:33
33 But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as
well.
2. We don’t love like God loves.
1 John 4:10-11
10 This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning
sacrifice for our sins. 11 Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another.
“If we're going to live like Jesus lived, we're going to have to love like Jesus loved.”
Ephesians 4:29
29 Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for
building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen.
3. We feel unworthy
Romans 5:8
8 But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for
us.
Genesis 3:10
10 He answered, “I heard you in the garden, and I was afraid because I was naked; so I hid.”
Genesis 3:9
9 But the Lord God called to the man, “Where are you?”
Ephesians 2:10
10 For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared
in advance for us to do.
