Take the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God.” Ephesians 6:17

What Should I Do With the Bible?

B:

It Completely.

Above all, you must realize that no prophecy in Scripture ever came from the prophet’s own understanding, or from human initiative. No, those prophets were moved by the Holy Spirit, and they spoke from God. 2 Peter 1:20-21

As for God, His way is perfect: The Lord’s Word is flawless; He shields all who take refuge in Him. Psalm 18:30

For, “All people are like grass, and all their glory is like the flowers of the field; the grass withers and the flowers fall, but the word of the Lord endures forever.” And this is the word that was preached to you. 1 Peter 1:24-25

“It is easier for heaven and earth to disappear than for the least stroke of a pen to drop out of the Law.” Luke 16:17

I:

in It Fully.

Let the morning bring me word of your unfailing love, for I have put my trust in You. Show me the way I should go, for to You I entrust my life. Psalm 143:8

On It.

“Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock.” Matthew 7:24-25

Discussion Questions:
1. Why do you think it’s important to believe the Bible completely? How does this impact our faith and daily lives?

  1. Pastor Cole encouraged us to invest time in reading the Bible, preferably in the morning. What are some practical ways you could make this a reality in your life?

  2. How can we effectively apply the APPLY method (Admit sin, Promise to claim, Pattern to follow, Lesson to learn, Yield in gratitude) when reading the Bible?

  3. In what ways have you seen your life change as a result of reading and applying God’s Word?

  4. Pastor Cole pointed to the Bereans as an example of examining Scripture. How can we develop a similar attitude of eagerly searching the Scriptures?

Practical Applications:

  1. Take the NT90X Challenge: Commit to reading through the New Testament in the next 90 days.

  2. Choose a specific time and place for daily Bible reading. Share your plan with the group.

  3. Practice using the APPLY method with a Bible passage during the coming week.

  4. Identify one area in your life where you need to yield more fully to God’s Word. What steps can you take to live out this change?

Closing Prayer:
Pray for each member to develop a deeper love for God’s Word and the discipline to study it regularly. Ask for God’s help in applying the Bible’s teachings to your daily lives.
