INTRODUCTION

Have you ever felt like your faith is stuck on silent? Like it’s there, but it’s not really making an impact? James challenges us to stop letting our faith be something private and quiet—it’s meant to be seen and heard. It’s not about keeping it to ourselves; it’s about letting it show up in the everyday moments of our lives.

“But be doers of the word and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves.” —James 1:22

James gives us a life-changing principle: faith isn’t just something we believe—it’s something we do, something that shows up in how we treat others, in our decisions, in our actions. So, get ready to turn up the volume on your faith and let it speak for itself. It’s time to live out loud!


In this collection, we’ll unpack simple, practical ways to let our faith grow and change the way we live. We will explore turning up the faith volume and answering the following questions:

Week 4 - Is Our Faith Alive?


I. FAITH REQUIRES (v 15-16)

A. Faith acknowledges that

alone are insufficient. (v 14)

“Little children, let us not love in word or speech, but in action and in truth.” —1 John 3:18

B. Faith acknowledges the

of others. (v 15-16)

“The righteous care about justice for the poor, but the wicked have no such concern.” —Proverbs 29:7 (NIV)

II. FAITH ALWAYS RESPONDS WITH (v 17-20)

A. Faith

compassionately toward the vulnerable. (v 17)

“For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat; I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink; I was a stranger and you took me in; 36I was naked and you clothed me; I was sick and you took care of me; I was in prison and you visited me.” —Matthew 25:35-36

B. Faith

to consistent good works. (vs 18-19)

“Let us not get tired of doing good, for we will reap at the proper time if we don’t give up. 10Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us work for the good of all, especially for those who belong to the household of faith.” —Galatians 6:9-10

III. FAITH REQUIRES (v 21-23)

A. Faith

obedience over comfort. (v 21)

“Therefore, brothers and sisters, in view of the mercies of God, I urge you to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God; this is your true worship.” —Romans 12:1

B. Faith

reputation for righteousness. (vs 22-23; 25)

“The fear of mankind is a snare, but the one who trusts in the LORD is protected.” —Proverbs 29:25

IV. FAITH SHOWS TRUE (v 26)

A. Faith

the reality of an authentic conversion. (v 26a)

“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has passed away, and see, the new has come!” —2 Corinthians 5:17

B. Faith

God’s character to a watching world. (v 26b)

“In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father in heaven.” —Matthew 5:16

CONCLUSION: Are we demonstrating our faith to the world around us?
