OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD: This is our final collection week for our Operation Christmas Child boxes! All donations and completed boxes should be in by this Sunday, November 17th which will also be our Packing Party at 6pm! We are still in need of “wow items” especially for older ages and you can still make monetary donation to go toward the $10 postage for each box. Last year we were able to send 244 boxes and we would love to see us do at least that or more this year! For gift suggestions and box packing instructions check out the Operation Christmas Child website!

MONTHLY PRAYER BREAKFAST: Our next Monthly Prayer Breakfast is scheduled for Saturday, November 16th at 9am at the church or from home through this ZOOM Link. These prayer breakfasts happen on the third Saturday of each month and are a time to bring your coffee and come sit, pray, and fellowship with your church family. Consider joining us this month and pray together for the needs of our churches, families, community, and world!

24/7 DAY OF PRAYER: On the third Monday of each month we come alongside Together in their efforts to have someone in RI praying every hour of every day. This month on Monday, November 18th we want to have someone from LHCC praying every hour of that day. We have a 24/7 Prayer Schedule of people committed to a time each month but there are several openings that it would be great to fill. Reach out to Kelly at kholdridge5@gmail.com if you want to commit to a time each month and join us in prayer that day!

BIRTHDAY PARTY FOR JESUS: For this year’s Christmas outreach we will be holding a birthday party for Jesus on Sunday, December 15th from 2-5pm at the church. This will be the ultimate kid’s birthday party for our Savior, Jesus Christ! We will need lots of people to make it happen so please Sign Up Online and let us know how you will be able to help that day or share an idea of something you would like to add to the day’s festivities. Let’s make this a great day to celebrate the birth of Jesus and spread that good news with our community!

“DRESS TO THE NINES” SUNDAY: In honor of Church Around the World on Sunday, December 1st we are asking everyone to break our their “Sunday Best” and dress up for church. While in this country and especially in New England we have adopted a more casual approach to dressing for Sunday church, in many places in the US and around the world dressing up is an important part of attending a church service. So join us in celebrating that church tradition and “Dress to the Nines” with us!

MISSION FELLOWSHIP “LEFTOVER” LUNCH: We are hosting John & Marion Andrews from the Netherlands for a mission visit on Sunday, December 1st so we have decided that to hold our normal Thanksgiving Fellowship “Leftover” Lunch that day to celebrate with them. The mission team will be catering the bulk of that day and for that we need a headcount, however, we also encourage people to share whatever Thanksgiving leftovers they might have (particularly dessert) to add to the meal. If you and your family plan on attending, please Sign Up Online so we can get a headcount for the catering portion of the lunch.

ADVENT READING IN THE LIFE OF JESUS: Looking ahead to the Christmas season, again this year we will be reading in the book “The Life of Jesus” for the advent season. These small books are available at church and are an account of Jesus’ life and teachings created by combining selections from the four Gospels into one continuous story. It is written in an easy to read style making it a great for almost any age or Biblical knowledge level. We will begin on December 1st and go right through the end of the year. The daily passage reading will be posted in our online reading section of the website and we encourage people to read together and then leave a comment, thought, question, or prayer each day.

CHAT WITH PASTOR: We have reserved times on Sunday afternoons for people to spend a little time talking to Pastor. THis can be a time to talk about an issue, a question, or even just a time to catch up! You can Sign Up Online or at church for one of these time blocks and spend some time chatting with Pastor:)

LHCC MISSION TEAM: Did you know that LHCC has the privilege to provide regular support to 6 differnt missionaries and ministries?
Overseas we support Oded & Bimini Cohen in Israel, John & Marion Andrews in the Netherlands, Pastor Francis Avoyi in Africa and The Bible League International.
Locally we support Harmony Women’s Care and Doug & Cindy Schoenheit of the New England area for AWANA.
Often we also have the opportunity to come alongside other missions and missionaries as needs present themselves and provide information and education to our church family about missions.
If God has put on your heart to become more involved with missions at LHCC please reach out to Ruth Napolitano at rlc0898@verizon.net for more information.

MISSION TEAM HIGHLIGHT: For the next couple of months the mission team would like to encourage everyone to learn a little more about and spend a little extra time in prayer for LHCC supported missionary, Pastor Francis Avoyi. Pastor Francis, his wife Benedict, and his family all serve in Togo, West Africa. They work with Pioneers to help the people they minister to both physically and spiritually. In addition to sharing the gospel and planting churches, they meet many physical needs of these people by bringing them clothes, food, water, medical supplies, and healthcare. This is a dangerous part of the world to minister in as there is both civil unrest and resistance to the gospel. Pray for their health and safety, for open doors to minister, and for open hearts to receive the good news of Christ!

MISSION PRAYER CORNER: Please pray for Bimini Cohen’s ministry partner Eunice and her husband Leland. Leland has had many health issues over the past few years that we have lifted upo to God and he has been doing well, however, his health has taken a turn for the worst. Leland has 3 aortic aneurysms that have grown quite large and this condition requires immediate surgery. So today, Tuesday, Nov. 12th, Leland will undergo a 5-hour surgery to repair his aorta. He will be hospitalized for 4 days. Please pray for the Lord’s complete protection and full healing for dear Leland. Please also pray for an extra measure of God’s protection over Bimini, Oded, Mac and Eunice, including all those whom they love and serve.
