Ezekiel 2:1-10

2:1-5 | Once the Spirit of the Lord entered Ezekiel (another mark of prophetic credibility in the OT), the Lord instructed the prophet to speak His words just as He delivered them, no matter how the people might receive them. This critical principle remains unchanged today for anyone who proclaims the Word of God: profess what He says, regardless of the response.

2:8 | Ezekiel needed to carefully hear and labor to absorb (eat) God’s message before the could proclaim it to others (Rev. 10:9). In the same way, each person’s mind engaged to understand God’s Word; only then may the Word of God be effectively declared. Each crucial step of the process is an exercise in obedience.
