  • It’s time to re-dig the well of prayer is our personal lives and in our church.

I will make my people joyful in my house of prayer. —Isaiah 56:7

  • of the 28 chapters in Acts focus on what happens when believers pray.

  • The book of Acts is the story of a people of prayer. It’s the story of a people that learned to pray

    Jesus.

Acts 1:14, 2:42 - continuing:
- to adhere to one, be his adherent, to be devoted or constant to one
- to be steadfastly attentive unto, to give unremitting care to a thing
- to continue all the time in a place
- to persevere and not to faint
- to show one’s self

for
- to be in constant readiness for one, wait on constantly

For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren. 
34 Who is he who condemns? It is Christ who died, and furthermore is also risen, who is even at the right hand of God, who also makes intercession for us. —Romans 8:29, 34

He ever lives to make intercession for us. —Hebrews 7:25

9 Our Father in heaven,
Hallowed be Your name.
10 Your kingdom come.
Your will be done
On earth as it is in heaven.
11 Give us this day our daily bread.
12 And forgive us our debts,
As we forgive our debtors.
13 And do not lead us into temptation,
But deliver us from the evil one.
For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen. —Matthew 6:9-13 NKJV

1. you pray - intentionality (Luke 11:1)

Action Steps:
- Personal - Choose a time for consistent time with the Lord in your daily life.
- Corporate - Choose to participate in group prayer

2. “ Father in heaven” - and connection. (Matthew 6:9)

a. Remember who God is.
b. Remember who you are.

  • As we lift our eyes, recovering a true view of God’s identity, we also His view of us.

To all who are in Rome, beloved of God, called

3. “Hallowed be Your name - adoration and . (Matthew 6:9)

  • The word hallowed means “to make holy,” or “to set apart, sanctify, consecrate, dedicate.” The closest commonly used English word is probably

  • “Our Father” is a reminder of God’s closeness; “hallowed” is a reminder of his separateness, his majesty, his incomprehensible

  • This is a place of surrender and

    where we invite the Spirit of God to reorder our affections.
