Sermon Details

Sermon: Jude: A Secure Grace
Scripture: Jude 1:1-4
Summary:

For Reflection and Discussion

Read Scripture:

  1. In the message, Sam pointed out two ways we can view God:

      1) God can’t look at us because of sin –the logical consequence of the cross is that Jesus covers this so now He can look at us
      2) God accepts us, but that’s because of the cross and Jesus’s continual intercession for us.

When in your life have you believed that God has not wanted anything to do with you
    because of your mess?

  2. You are loved by God (and called by Him) first and foremost. Jude’s language in verse one stresses this love is a present reality. Have you considered this before? Is there a time in your life when you’ve forgotten this, and were no longer aware of God’s closeness? What was going on?
  3. Grace is not a “thing”, nor a get out of jail free card, rather, grace is embodied in the Person of Christ. Jude is calling us back to the God-centred truth, that you are His and Jesus Christ is the embodiment of Grace. As a church, we believe in operating personally with God and others.
How have you done this in the last week?
      • With God?
      • With others (spouse, friend, colleagues)?
Where do you need Jesus and His grace in these areas, (conflict, selfishness, apathy)? confess to Jesus and one another and pray together.
