Commandment #1 - Do not have any God’s before me.
Commandment #2 - Do not make any idols or bow down and worship them.

Commandment #3 - Do not use God’s name in vain.

Exodus 20:7 -
“You must not misuse the name of the Lord your God. The Lord will not let you go unpunished if you misuse his name.

Matthew 5:33-37 -
33 “You have also heard that our ancestors were told, ‘You must not break your vows; you must carry out the vows you make to the Lord.’ 34 But I say, do not make any vows! Do not say, ‘By heaven!’ because heaven is God’s throne. 35 And do not say, ‘By the earth!’ because the earth is his footstool. And do not say, ‘By Jerusalem!’ for Jerusalem is the city of the great King. 36 Do not even say, ‘By my head!’ for you can’t turn one hair white or black. 37 Just say a simple, ‘Yes, I will,’ or ‘No, I won’t.’ Anything beyond this is from the evil one.

2 Corinthians 5:20 -
So we are Christ’s ambassadors; God is making his appeal through us. We speak for Christ when we plead, “Come back to God!”

Titus 1:16 -
Such people claim they know God, but they deny him by the way they live. They are detestable and disobedient, worthless for doing anything good.

Leviticus 24:16 -
Anyone who blasphemes the Name of the Lord must be stoned to death by the whole community of Israel. Any native-born Israelite or foreigner among you who blasphemes the Name of the Lord must be put to death.

John 20:30-31 -
30 The disciples saw Jesus do many other miraculous signs in addition to the ones recorded in this book. 31 But these are written so that you may continue to believe that Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God, and that by believing in him you will have life by the power of his name.

Proverbs 18:21 -
The tongue can bring death or life; those who love to talk will reap the consequences.

HOW DO WE LOVE GOD?

We

the power of our words both spoken and unspoken.

We

God’s name.

Psalm 9:10 -
Those who know your name trust in you, for you, O Lord, do not abandon those who search for you.

We

on God.

FINAL QUESTION: What are you saying about Jesus and what do you need to be saying about Jesus?
