DAY 2: Monday, April 24th
GOD IS WILL BE WITH YOU AND HE WILL HELP YOU
READ
But Moses replied to the Lord, “Please, Lord, I have never been eloquent—either in the past or recently or since you have been speaking to your servant—because my mouth and my tongue are sluggish.” 11 The Lord said to him, “Who placed a mouth on humans? Who makes a person mute or deaf, seeing or blind? Is it not I, the Lord? 12 Now go! I will help you speak and I will teach you what to say.” (Exodus 4:10-12)
DEVOTIONAL
I’m not sure if you’ve ever found yourself in a place like Moses was, where God has led you to something that you feel inadequate to do. Maybe it’s because you don’t feel worthy or you don’t feel like you have the ability. But the truth is that God has put each one of us together and He knows what He’s doing. Furthermore, He promised us something that is far greater than confidence in ourselves. He has promised to be with us and that He will help us along the way. This is exactly what God was telling Moses. Was God surprised at the news that Moses was a poor speaker? No. Was God even taken off guard by Moses’ nervousness in the matter? Not at all. God was trying to teach Moses to trust Him and to see that God was with him. The same is true for us. I’m not sure what your insecurities might be. For each of us they might be different. And this week you may be called on to do something that hits that nerve. Don’t be afraid. God will be with you and will help you. And that is exactly what you need.
PRAYER
Take a moment today to ask God to give you the strength that you need to carry out the tasks for the day. Ask Him to remind you of His presence with you. Thank Him for the help He has and will provide to you to accomplish what He has called you to do. Also, pray for the rest of your team members by name. Ask God to remind them of these truths and to strengthen us for our work today.
QUESTION
What is a specific way you have seen God work in your life that surprised you?
