Prayer for the Future Ministry in Our New Worship Space
Day Seventeen
And let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body. And be thankful. Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God.
- Colossians 3:15-16
We are looking forward to the day that we get to gather together to worship in our new space. What a gift it will be to have more of the Providence family together to worship in each of our gatherings. We are also excited about having more space to welcome guests and people who are seeking after God and a church home. Our new space will also have more places to gather before and after our gatherings to fellowship with one another. Our hope when we gather together is that God would be exalted, the church would be edified, and the lost would be evangelized as we worship together in Spirit and truth.
Father, we thank you for allowing us to worship you. If you did not first call us, we could not come. As we prepare to gather together to worship you in our new space, would you remind us of the gift it is to meet together with your people to open your Word, sing your praises, and respond to the work you are doing in our midst. We pray that our worship is grounded in truth and empowered by the Holy Spirit. We pray that our church is built up as we enter into worship. We pray that as we open your Word it leads to the day of salvation for many and opportunities to realign our hearts to yours. Amen.
As you go through your day:
1. Ask the Lord how you can better prepare your heart before entering into our worship gatherings each week.
2. Pray that each time we gather, God would be exalted, the church would be edified, and the lost would be evangelized.
3. Pray that our gatherings would be a place where the faithful member, the searching, the hurting, and the skeptic can come and experience the fullness of the gospel in word and deed.
