Live In Overflow

We can “Live in Overflow” by keeping the four tanks of our lives replenished regularly.

Text: Psalm 23:5

1 A Psalm of David. The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.
2 He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.
3 He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.
4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
5 Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.
6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever. —Psalms 23:1-6 (KJV - King James Version)

20 Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us, —Ephesians 3:20 (KJV - King James Version)

5You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; You have anointed my head with oil; My cup overflows. —Psalms 23:5 (NASB - New American Standard Bible)

FUEL TRUCKS
We are not supposed to be running on empty all the time.
Not only is it unsafe for us spiritually, but we are not able to pour out from abundance and so physically, mentally and emotionally it drains us even more!!

LIFE’S FOUR TANKS

THE TANK

The Spiritual Tank (You & God)

Spiritual Tank - HOW IS YOUR RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD?

  • Our spiritual tank is our connection with God - prayer, worship, and His Word.
  • We should make time for spiritual disciplines like prayer, fasting, and meditation on God’s Word
  • (Psalm 1:1-3) - Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. 2 But his delight is in the law of the Lord; and in his law doth he meditate day and night. 3 And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.
  • Too often this is all church people want to talk about. As if just praying and reading the Bible more will fix everything. Yes, we should make time for these things - but not because we HAVE to - we need to see REST and SABBATH as God’s Gift to US!

  • How do we manage our emotions and maintain peace?
  • (Philippians 4:6-7) - 6 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. 7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
