The fruit of fasting God’s way.

Isaiah 58:8-9 NLT

8 “Then your salvation will come like the dawn, and your wounds will quickly heal. Your godliness will lead you forward, and the glory of the LORD will protect you from behind.
9 Then when you call, the Lord will answer. ‘Yes, I am here,’ he will quickly reply. “Remove the heavy yoke of oppression. Stop pointing your finger and spreading vicious rumors!”

John 9:3-5 NKJV

3 Jesus answered, “Neither this man nor his parents sinned, but that the works of God should be revealed in him.
4 I must work the works of Him who sent Me while it is day; the night is coming when no one can work.
5 As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world.”

Humanity focuses on fault –

God’s focus is on His works being revealed in impossible situations.

Try this: FAST blaming others for your pain and start expecting God’s power and glory to be seen in your life. What a great way to begin a fast.

The challenge of not falling prey to the judgment of others who will not let you be free from the identity of your past.

But I know this: “I was blind, and now I can see!” What Jesus has done in your life is better lived out than explained. Live it!

John 9:39 NLT

Then Jesus told him, “I entered this world to render judgment—to give sight to the blind and to show those who think they see that they are blind.”

To follow Jesus is to leave what is comfortable and controllable, to leave our accepted religious culture.

Let’s agree to follow Jesus and to keep our eyes on Him. There’s no better place to be.

John 9:40 NLT

Some Pharisees who were standing nearby heard him and asked, “Are you saying we’re blind?”

As we start our church-wide fast, let’s be open to surrender every area of our lives. And when the Holy Spirit addresses areas of our lives that need correction, let us not respond with, “Are you saying we’re blind?”

TIFAW:

Fast blaming others for your pain and start expecting God’s power and glory to be seen in your life.

Don’t fall prey to the judgment of others who will not let you be free from the identity of your past. Live out what Jesus has done in your life.

Follow Jesus and keep your eyes on Him.

Be open to surrender in every area of your life.
