Acts 19:1-2 “While Apollos was in Corinth, Paul traveled through the interior regions until he reached Ephesus, on the coast, where he found several believers. did you recieve the Holy Spirit when you believed? he asked them. “No” they replied, “we haven’t even heard that there is a Holy Spirit.”

1. The promise of The Holy Spirit
Isaiah 44:3 “I will pour water on him who is thirsty, and floods on the dry ground; I will pour My Spirit on your descendants and My blessing on your offspring.”
Joel 2:28-29 “It shall come to pass that I will pour out My Spirit on all flesh. Your sons and your daughter will prophesy, your old men will dream dreams, your young men will see visions. On my menservants and on my maidservants I will pour out My Spirit in those days.”
Luke 11:13 “If your sinful people know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him”
Ephesians 5:18 “Do not be drunk with wine but be filled with the Spirit.”
2. The Purpose of The Holy Spirit
1 Corinthians 12:3a “… no one can say Jesus is Lord except by the Holy Spirit”
John 16:8 “When the Holy Spirit has come, He will convict the world of sin, of righteousness and of judgment”
Acts 1:8 “You will recieve power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you. And you will be My Witnesses, telling people about me everywhere- in Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria, and to the ends of the Earth”
Acts 3:6-7 “Peter said ‘Silver and gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you: in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk.’ And he took him by the right hand and lifted him up and immediately his feet and ankle bones recieved strength.”
1 Corinthians 6:19 “Don’t you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who lives in you.”
1 Corinthians 12:7-11 “The manifestation of the Spirit is given to each one of the profit of all. For to one is given the word of wisdom though the Spirit, to another the word of knowledge through the same Spirit, to another thr working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another discerning of spirits, to another tongues, to another interpretation of tongues. But one and the same Spirit works all these things distributing to each one individually as He wills.”
Romans 8:26 “The Holy Spirit helps us in our weakness. For example, we don’t know what God wants us to pray for. But the Holy Spirit prays for us with groanings that cannot be expressed in words”
Galations 5:16 “Let the Holy Spirit guide your lives. Then you won’t be doing what your sinful nature craves”
1 John 4:4 “… the Spirit who is in you is more powerful thank the spirit in those who belong to the world.”
