SMALL GROUP QUESTIONS

Warm Up Question: Why is continuing something (a habit, routine, New Year’s resolution) so difficult?

HEAD: These questions help us examine the Word.
1. Read 2 Timothy 3:10-17. Based on the context of the letter, why does Paul tell Timothy to “continue in what you have learned” (v. 14)?
2. What kinds of sufferings and persecutions did Paul experience (v. 11)? What forms of persecution might a Christian in America face today?
3. What are the implications of the Scriptures being “inspired by God” (v. 16)?
4. Verses 16-17 describes many ways that the Bible impacts our lives. How are those descriptions (rebuke, correct, etc.) similar or different?

HEART: These questions help us wrestle with what we believe.
5. Paul mentions 2 outside forces that can propel us forward in our faith: the Scriptures and godly mentors. How are you regularly engaging the scriptures and regularly engaging with godly mentors? What impact does this have on your faith?

HAND: These questions help us bring truth and beliefs into our everyday life.
6. What is one practical step that you want to take based on these verses?
