  1. When you were a child, what was something you treasured?

  2. How has the teaching of the Sermon on the Mount challenged you? How has it convicted you? Has it caused you to adjust your outlook and act differently?

  3. Why is money a focus for Jesus in his teaching? What treasurers are you currently “laying up”?

  4. How would you be impacted if your “valuables” were lost, or taken away? What would you struggle to live without?

  5. Where do I find that which is most valuable to me?

  6. Discuss the following statement: “Materialism is not a problem with possessions, but with perspective.
    The issue is not how much I have in my grasp, but how tightly my grasp is on what I have.”
