INTRODUCTION

Many people think potential comes from good genes or enormous talent. But as Christians we know that God is the master builder of our lives. Moses was a person in the Bible who doubted his potential even though he was called by God to be a great leader. Instead of stepping into his potential, he made excuses for why he couldn’t lead, only to later look back on his life and realize that God had done incredible things in and through him.

“By faith Moses, when he had grown up, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh’s daughter 25and chose to suffer with the people of God rather than to enjoy the fleeting pleasure of sin. 26For he considered reproach for the sake of Christ to be greater wealth than the treasures of Egypt, since he was looking ahead to the reward.” —Hebrews 11:24-26

Come and discover the life lessons of spiritual leadership as God develops Moses to his full potential. By looking at Moses’ life, we can learn how to unmask the excuses in our lives that keep us from reaching our potential.

In this collection, we will look at the excuses that almost prevented Moses from accomplishing all that God asked of Him:

Today’s Takeaway: God will supernaturally provide what man naturally thinks he lacks.

Week 3 - “I CAN’T COMMUNICATE WELL”

I. HOW IS YOUR GOD?

“Do you not know? Have you not heard? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the whole earth. He never becomes faint or weary; there is no limit to his understanding. 29He gives strength to the faint and strengthens the powerless.” —Isaiah 40:28-29

  • “I AM” is all that we need in every circumstance of our life, and it is foolish for us to argue, “I am not.”

II. WHERE IS YOUR ?

“But Moses said in the Lord’s presence, “If the Israelites will not listen to me, then how will Pharaoh listen to me, since I am such a poor speaker?” —Exodus 6:12

“But Moses replied in the Lord’s presence, “Since I am such a poor speaker, how will Pharaoh listen to me?” —Exodus 6:30

  • Moses was making the mistake of focusing on his power and limitations instead of focusing on God’s limitless power.

III. WHAT IS YOUR TRUE ?

  • God’s responses to all of Moses’ excuses underscore that God Himself will accomplish the deliverance of His people; Moses will serve merely as God’s human instrument.

IV. WHAT IS YOUR ?

“Then Joshua commanded the officers of the people, 11“Go through the camp and tell the people, ‘Get provisions ready for yourselves, for within three days you will be crossing the Jordan to go in and take possession of the land the Lord your God is giving you to inherit’.” —Joshua 1:10-11

  • God will never ask you to do something without His presence to guide you.

  • God prepares and provides resources for the task to which He calls us.

CONCLUSION: What steps do you need to take to focus on what God’s calling you to do?
