The Good News!
“Jesus told him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me.” —John 14:6
The Holy Spirit said to Philip, “Go over and walk along beside the carriage.” Philip ran over and heard the man reading from the prophet Isaiah. Philip asked, “Do you understand what you are reading?” The man replied, “How can I, unless someone instructs me?” And he urged Philip to come up into the carriage and sit with him. —Acts 8:29-31
He was asking questions.
‘Just think how much more the blood of Christ will purify our consciences from sinful deeds so that we can worship the living God. For by the power of the eternal Spirit, Christ offered himself to God as a perfect sacrifice for our sins.’ —Hebrews 9:14
“God did this so that they would seek him and perhaps reach out for him and find him, though he is not far from any one of us.” —Acts 17:27
I have written this to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, so that you mayyou have eternal life. —1 John 5:13
The passage of Scripture he had been reading was this: “He was led like a sheep to the slaughter. And as a lamb is silent before the shearers, he did not open his mouth. He was humiliated and received no justice. Who can speak of his descendants? For his life was taken from the earth.” The eunuch asked Philip, “Tell me, was the prophet talking about himself or someone else?”
So beginning with this same Scripture, Philip told him theabout __Jesus. —Acts 8:32-35
Philip’s answer to his question was Jesus!
God loves You!

But Jesus paid for our sin!
But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners. —Romans 5:8
God saved you by his grace when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God. Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it. —Ephesians 2:8-9
Repent and turn to him!
Peter replied, “Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.” —Acts 2:38
The result of hearing this Good News? He believed, repented, and said baptize me!
As they rode along, they came to some water, and the eunuch said, “Look! There’s some water! Why can’t I be baptized?” He ordered the carriage to stop, and they went down into the water, and Philip baptized him. —Acts 8:36, 38
Or have you forgotten that when we were joined with Christ Jesus in baptism, we joined him in his death? For we died and were buried with Christ by baptism. And just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glorious power of the Father, now we also may live new lives. —Romans 6:3-4
As soon as Jesus was baptized, he went up out of the water. At that moment heaven was opened, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and lighting on him. And a voice from heaven said, “This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased.” —Matthew 3:16-17 NIV
