Isaiah 9:6 NLT
For a child is born to us, a son is given to us. The government will rest on his shoulders. And he will be called: Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
Isaiah 9:6 NLT
1. Jesus brings correction to our worship.
When the urgent in our lives unseats the necessary, we begin to lose passion and conviction about the most important things.
2. Jesus brings hope to our greatest need.
So now you Gentiles are no longer strangers and foreigners. You are citizens along with all of God’s holy people. You are members of God’s family. Ephesians 2:19 NLT
May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in Believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope. Romans 15:13 ESV
3. Jesus brings peace to our brokenness.
Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end,… Isaiah 9:7 NKJV
“And the work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness quietness and assurance forever.” Isaiah 32:17
Graciousness and truth have met together; righteousness and peace have kissed each other. Psalm 85:10 NASB
He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement that brought us peace was laid upon Him, and by His stripes we are healed. All we like sheep have gone astray; We have turned, every one, to his own way; and the Lord has laid on Him the iniquity of us all. Isaiah 53:5-6 NKJV
4. LOOK TO JESUS
Jesus canceled the charge of our indebtedness, which stood against us and condemned us; he has taken it away, nailing it to the cross. Colossians 2:14 NIV
God saved us FROM ourselves, TO Himself, THROUGH Himself, BY Himself, and FOR Himself.
