TEXT
“No one can serve two masters.
Either you will hate the one and love the other,
or you will be devoted to the one and despise the other.
You cannot serve both God and money.”Do Not Worry
“Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life,
what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear.
Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes?
Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap
or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them.
Are you not much more valuable than they?
Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life?
“And why do you worry about clothes?
See how the flowers of the field grow. They do not labor or spin.
Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor
was dressed like one of these.
If that is how God clothes the grass of the field,
which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire,
will he not much more clothe you—you of little faith?
So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’
or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’
For the pagans run after all these things,
and your heavenly Father knows that you need them.
But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness,
and all these things will be given to you as well.
Therefore do not worry about tomorrow,
for tomorrow will worry about itself.
Each day has enough trouble of its own. —Matthew 6:24-34 NIV
Then Jesus declared, “I am the bread of life.
Whoever comes to me will never go hungry,
and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty. —John 6:35 NIV
I delight greatly in the LORD;
my soul rejoices in my God.
For He has clothed me with garments of salvation
and arrayed me in a robe of his righteousness,
as a bridegroom adorns his head like a priest,
and as a bride adorns herself with her jewels. —Isaiah 61:10 NIV
So faith comes from hearing, and hearing by the word of Christ. —Romans 10:17
He said to them: “You are well aware that it is against our law
for a Jew to associate with or visit a Gentile.
But God has shown me that I should not call anyone impure or unclean. —Acts 10:28 NIV
Of this gospel I was made a minister
according to the gift of God’s grace which was given me
by the working of his power.
To me, though I am the very least of all the saints,
this grace was given, to preach to the Gentiles
the unsearchable riches of Christ,
and to make all men see what is the plan
of the mystery hidden for ages in God who created all things;
that through the church the manifold wisdom of God
might now be made known to the principalities and powers
in the heavenly places. —Ephesians 3:7-10 RSV
For our sake He made Him to be sin who knew no sin,
so that in Him we might become the righteousness of God. —2 Corinthians 5:21 RSV
But as many as received Him,
to them He gave the right to become children of God,
to those who believe in His name. —John 1:12 NASB
“The generous will prosper; those who refresh others
will themselves be refreshed.” —Proverbs 11:25 NLT
“The one who blesses others is abundantly blessed;
those who help others are helped.” —Proverbs 11:25 MSG
