Masquerade Pt. II: Self-Deception

Those that don’t

, don’t , that they don’t !

Just because I can’t

it, and I choose to believe that it does not , does not mean that it is not true.

Three Truths of Self-Deception

GOD CANNOT BLESS WHO YOU

TO BE!

- Genesis 27-28

- God is never fooled by our disguises!

THE LONGER WE VIEW OURSELVES THROUGH A

LENS, THE MORE LIKELY WE ARE TO BELIEVE A TRUTH.

- The longer you wear your mask, the more you will begin to believe that is really you.

- Self-deception is self-distortion.

- “They think too much of themselves so they don’t see their sin and hate it.” Psalm 36:2 NCV

THE MORE CONVINCED YOU ARE YOU’RE

, THE MORE LIKELY YOU ARE TO BE .

Overcoming Self-Deception

-We must

the truth, in the truth, and be by the truth!

-Three actions for today to help me drop the mask of self-deception:

“Search me, God, and know my heart, test me and know my
anxious thoughts. See if there is any offensive way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.”
Psalm 139:23-24

“He who listens to a life-giving rebuke will be at home among
the wise.”
Proverbs 15:31

“Put feet to what God Speaks!! “Act on what you hear!”
James 1:22 MSG

“You shall know the truth, and the truth shall set you free.” John 8:32
