1.  The wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord
(Romans 6:23). Read Galatians 5:16-18.

Life Without God Views          Scriptural Views (Opposite of world views)

2.  Why do you think we are so easily blinded by evil forces to sin's long-term consequences?  (II
Cor. 4:4

3.  Have you, or someone you know, tried to justify being "good enough" by comparing themselves to
others?  Or I'm pretty good compared to … or I'm not as bad as …  (James 2:8-12)

4.  Jesus clarifies that sin is more than the letter of the law (Matt. 5:21-42, I John 3:15).  Can you find
more examples?

5.  How does the Bible's definition affect our laws?  (Romans 7:7-8

6.  Do you see examples of our laws moving away from the Bible's directions?

7.  Believing in Christ doesn't remove temptation and being made free in Christ does not free us to sin
(II Cor. 3:16-17).  Even after conversion, Paul battled with his fleshly human will. (Romans 7:14-
15, 21-25)
God provides through His Spirit ways to endure temptation without sin.  What are some ways
God has given us to battle temptation?

8.  Review the armor of God.  Name the seven pieces (Ephesians 6:11-13).
*Deeper yet- look at today's scriptures in multiple translations.  Do you see any difference in
meaning or perspective?
