Matthew 17:14-21
And when they came to the crowd, a man came up to him and, kneeling
before him, 15 said, “Lord, have mercy on my son, for he has seizures and he suffers terribly. For often he falls into the fire, and often into the water.
16And I brought him to your disciples, and they could not heal him.”
17And Jesus answered, “O faithless and twisted generation, how long am I to be with you? How long am I to bear with you? Bring him here to me.”
18And Jesus rebuked the demon, and it came out of him, and the
boy was healed instantly.
19 Then the disciples came to Jesus privately and said, “Why could we not drive it out?”
20And He said to them, “Because of the littleness of your faith;
20And He said to them, “Because of the littleness of your faith; for truly I say to you, if you have faith the size of a mustard seed, you will say to
this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move; and nothing
will be impossible to you.
The principle of the mustard seed is that it starts
the seed
21 But this kind does not go out except by prayer and fasting.”
Luke 11
5And he said to them, “Which of you who has a friend will go to him at midnight and say to him, ‘Friend, lend me three loaves,
6for a friend of mine has arrived on a journey, and I have nothing to set before him’; 7and he will answer from within, ‘Do not bother me; the door is now shut, and my children are with me in bed. I cannot get up and give you anything’? 8I tell you, though he will not get up and give him anything because he is his friend, yet because of his impudence he will rise and give him whatever he needs.
9And I tell you, ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. 10 For everyone who asks receives, and the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks it will be opened.

Sometimes, God answers our prayers by giving us what we would have asked for if we knew what He knows.
