Omnipotent - part 3
God’s power
Ephesians 3:20 Now all glory to God, who is able, through His mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think. (NLT)
What’s the one thing in your life you think is
I. God’s power in creation: nothing is too
Genesis 1:1 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. (NLT)
Psalm 33:6 The Lord merely spoke, and the heavens were created. He breathed the word, and all the stars were born. (NLT)
When life feels chaotic, trust that God can bring order.
Isaiah 40:26 Look up into the heavens. Who created all the stars? He brings them out like an army, one after another, calling each by its name. Because of his great power and incomparable strength, not a single one is missing. (NLT)
God’s power is revealed in
2 Corinthians 12:7-9 Even though I have received such wonderful revelations from God. So to keep me from becoming proud, I was given a thorn in my flesh, a messenger from Satan to torment me and keep me from becoming proud. Three different times I begged the Lord to take it away. Each time he said, “My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness.” So now I am glad to boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ can work through me. (NLT)
II. God’s power over circumstances: nothing is too
Joshua 10:12-14 On the day the Lord gave the Israelites victory over the Amorites, Joshua prayed to the Lord in front of all the people of Israel. He said, “Let the sun stand still over Gibeon, and the moon over the valley of Aijalon.” So the sun stood still and the moon stayed in place until the nation of Israel had defeated its enemies. Is this event not recorded in The Book of Jashar? The sun stayed in the middle of the sky, and it did not set as on a normal day. There has never been a day like this one before or since, when the Lord answered such a prayer. Surely the Lord fought for Israel that day! (NLT)
