Key Verses: Colossians 3:12-17

1. Read Colossians 3:12-13

a. Why is it difficult for so many Christians to “put on” or “clothe their lives” with the characteristics described in verse 12?

b. Why do so many churches Churches and Christians choose fractured relationships over “bearing with one another?”

c. Why is it so difficult to forgive as Christ forgave us? How would the Christian experience change if we were more willing to forgive as Christ has forgiven us? (See also Galatians 6:2 and Matthew 18:15)

2. Read Colossians 3:14-15
a. Based on what we see Christian love described as in verse 14; what does it say about our love as Christians if we fail to follow Paul’s commands in the previous two verses? Why does this matter?

b. Discuss the state of the current American church as seen through the “calling” to be “one body.”

3. Read Colossians 3:16-17
a. What does allowing the “word of Christ to dwell in you richly” look like?”

b. What is the purpose of music within the church, as seen through the words of Paul in verse 16?

c. What changes in the church or our lives as we more and more do all in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ?
