Why is the resurrection so important? What did God accomplish through Jesus’ resurrection?
How do you know the resurrection is true? What evidence did the Lord give to us? How has your life been changed by the resurrection?
Reading Matthew 28:1-10, do you think that the women thought that Jesus was alive, or dead? Why were they going to tomb in the first place?
Why was the stone going to be a problem for the women? Read Matthew 27:62-66. What else was on that stone that was going to be a problem for the women in moving the stone?
When the women saw the angel, what was their reaction? What did the angel say to them?
How does 1 Corinthians 15:17 affect your understanding of the importance of Jesus’ resurrection?
Think about Jesus’ last words in Matthew 28:18-20. How does this shape our lives and mission as believers? What comfort does it give to us? What commission does it give to all Christians?
