Finding GOD Along the WAY
In Israel, the most famous roads were given their names based on where the roads were headed. Israelites had names like the Damascus Road, Emmaus Road, and the Jericho Road. The names of these roads focused on the destination, not the terrain. Spiritually speaking, the road we travel leads to either heaven or hell. God meets us on that road to ensure that we have every reason to believe in Him

Discussion Questions
Getting Started
- Share your salvation experience. Did you have a “burning heart” moment when you started to believe in Jesus Christ? What was your response? Did you cry? Were you overwhelmed with love? Did you fill up with joy and laugh? Was there relief? Everyone has a different story of how they felt and reacted when they surrendered their life to Jesus.
Digging Deeper
Jesus met Saul (Paul) on the Road to Damascus (Acts 9:1-19). What is the significance of the light that flashed on him? Why did God make Paul blind for three days? Discuss how Paul immediately went from persecuting Christians to proclaiming Christ. Do you know of anyone who made a dramatic change in their life because of an encounter with Jesus Christ?
Read the story about the man who went on the Road to Jericho (Luke 10:30-37). Three men passed by the man who had been robbed and beaten. Which one would you be and why? If you want to build a bridge to people, you must care enough to stop on their journey and help them.
Meditate upon the enlightenment God gives to us (John 1:9; 8:12; 12:46; Eph 1:8; 2 Sam 22:29; Ezra 9:8; Is 9:2; Ps 18:28; 19:8; 119:130; Dan 2:22; Luke 2:32; Acts 26:18; 2 Cor 4:6; Heb 6:4; 2 Peter 1:19). Can you say that you are living in the light?
Applying the Word to Life
- Is there someone in your life that you need to approach about Jesus? Do you know enough Scripture to impact someone with the truth? Do you pray for your friends’ eyes to be illuminated and their hearts ignited by the Spirit? Have you ever thought about placing your unsaved friend in an environment that is filled with God’s presence?
