Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all the earth! Serve the Lord with gladness! Come into his presence with singing! Know that the Lord, he is God! It is he who made us, and we are his; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture. Enter his gates with thanksgiving, and his courts with praise! Give thanks to him; bless his name! For the Lord is good; his steadfast love endures forever, and his faithfulness to all generations.
- Psalm 100:1-15(ESV)

WHEN I FORGET THE GOODNESS OF GOD…

1) I BECOME UNGRATEFUL.
2) I STOP PRAYING.
3) I STOP TRUSTING.

1) I BECOME UNGRATEFUL.
on an appointed day Herod put on his royal robes, took his seat upon the throne, and delivered an oration to them. And the people were shouting, “The voice of a god, and not of a man!” Immediately an angel of the Lord struck him down, because he did not give God the glory, and he was eaten by worms and breathed his last.
- Acts 12:21-23(ESV)

But understand this, that in the last days there will come times of difficulty. For people will be lovers of self, lovers of money, proud, arrogant, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful… - 2 Tim.3:2(ESV)

2) I STOP PRAYING.

“I have learned to kiss the wave that throws me up against the Rock of Ages.” - Charles Spurgeon

3) I STOP TRUSTING.

Not only that, but we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, and hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us.
- Romans 5:3(ESV)

And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.
- Rom. 8:28(ESV)

BECAUSE GOD IS GOOD…

1) HE PROVIDES ALL THAT I NEED.
The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.
(vs. 1)

2) HE GIVES ME REST.
He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside still waters.
(vs. 2)

3) HE RENEWS MY STRENGTH.
He restores my soul.
(vs.3)

4) HE SHOWS ME WHICH WAY TO GO.
He leads me in paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.
(vs.3)

5) HE WILL WALK WITH ME IN THE VALLEYS.
Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me;
(vs. 4)

6) HE WILL MAKE ME SECURE IN AN INSECURE WORLD.
…your rod and your staff, they comfort me.
(vs. 4)

7) HE WILL BLESS ME.
You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; you anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows.
**(vs. 5)

8) HE WILL BE GOOD TO ME NO MATTER WHAT HAPPENS.
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life, and I shall dwell in the house of the Lord forever.
(vs. 6)

9) HE WILL TAKE ME TO HEAVEN ONE DAY!
…and I shall dwell in the house of the Lord forever.
(vs. 6)

Now may the God of peace who brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, the great shepherd of the sheep, by the blood of the eternal covenant, equip you with everything good that you may do his will, working in us that which is pleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory forever and ever. Amen. - Heb. 13:20 (ESV)
