SMALL GROUP QUESTIONS

Warm Up Question: Share a favorite summer memory you have.

HEAD: These questions help us examine the Word.
1. Read John 16:4-15. How do you see Jesus assuring His disciples in these verses?
2. Why do you think were the disciples hearts filled with sorrow?
3. Why would it be to the disciples benefit for Him to leave? (Review the four reasons from the sermon.)

o The problem with proximity. (Jesus could only be in one place at a time)

o The problem with the miraculous. (The miraculous rarely changes the heart John 6:30 after the feeding of the 5,000)

o The privilege of equality. (Ephesians 4:4-6 – the privilege of all being equal in the body of Christ)

o The privilege of intimacy (Being indwelled with The Spirit brings a personal minute by minute relationship.)

HEART: These questions help us wrestle with what we believe.
4. Read 1 Corinthians 6:19-20
o A life lived by the leading of the Spirit is one of submission as well as freedom. What are you learning about both of these?

HAND: These questions help us bring truth and beliefs into our everyday life.
6. How can you grow in your ability to listen to the Holy Spirit’s voice?
