God has given us the capacity to grow and give the blessing of
our faith to others.
1.
Second Timothy 1:1-5 / CSB, “Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus by God’s will, for the sake of the promise of life in Christ Jesus: 2 To Timothy, my dearly loved son. Grace, mercy, and peace from God the Father and Christ Jesus our Lord.I thank God, whom I serve with a clear conscience as my ancestors did, when I constantly remember you in my prayers night and day. 4 Remembering your tears, I long to see you so that I may be filled with joy. 5 I recall your sincere faith that first lived in your grandmother Lois and in your mother Eunice and now, I am convinced, is in you also.”
James 1:27/ NLT, “Pure and genuine religion in the sight of God the Father means caring for orphans and widows in their distress and refusing to let the world corrupt you.”
First Peter 1:6-8 / NLT, “So be truly glad. There is wonderful joy ahead, even though you must endure many trials for a little while. 7 These trials will show that your faith is genuine. It is being tested as fire tests and purifies gold—though your faith is far more precious than mere gold. So when your faith remains strong through many trials, it will bring you much praise and glory and honor on the day when Jesus Christ is revealed to the whole world.”
2. Refuse to neglect God’s gifts and guidance.
Second Timothy 1:6 / CSB, “Therefore, I remind you to rekindle the gift of God that is in you through the laying on of my hands.”
First Timothy 4:14a / CSB, “Don’t neglect the gift that is in you.”
Psalm 127:3 / NLT, “Children are a gift from the Lord; they are a reward from him.”
Proverbs 6:20 / NLT, “My son, obey your father’s commands, and don’t neglect your mother’s instruction.”
3.
Second Timothy 1:7 / CSB, “For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but one of power, love, and sound judgment.”
