I CAN BE BORN AGAIN

1. The Definition Of Regeneration

1) General

• Regenerate means to reform or renew or restore; to form or bring into existence again; reestablish on a new basis.

• Regeneration is the act of God, whereby the Holy Spirit gives a spiritual new birth to the believing sinner imparting to him a new nature and new spirit and giving the spiritually dead

2. The Explanation Of Regeneration

  1) A spiritual

  • This speaks of the second birth, i.e. the birth of the spirit. We were born into this world physically with a dead spirit. We must be born again, not physically, but spiritually.

3. The Necessity Of Regeneration (Jer. 13:23; Jn. 3:7; Rom. 3:10-18)

Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again.

• Note here that Jesus does not say “you may be born again,” or “you ought to be born again,” or “you should be born again.” He said, “You must be born again.”
• Regeneration is an absolute necessity. Why? Because we were born into this world with a
