spiritually dead…
1) Following the world.
2) Following the Devil.
3) Following the Flesh.

Dead in Sin:
But sin, seizing an opportunity through the commandment, produced in me all kinds of covetousness. For apart from the law, sin lies dead. - Romans7:8

But thanks be to God, that you who were once slaves of sin have become obedient from the heart to the standard of teaching to which you were committed, - Romans 6:17
