Satan Is Defeated
Luke 11:21-22 KJV
21 When a strong man ARMED KEEPETH his palace, his GOODS are in PEACE:
ARMED: Fully armed.
KEEPETH: to guard, keep watch, to protect, to keep from being snatched away…
PALACE: estate
GOODS: possessions, goods, wealth, property…
PEACE: exemption from wage and havoc of war.
22 But when a STRONGER than he shall come upon him, and OVERCOME him, HE TAKETH FROM HIM ALL HIS ARMOUR wherein he trusted, and DIVIDETH HIS SPOILS.
STRONGER: violent… aggressive, powerful, forceful, mighty, ferocious, smart, hard, intense…
OVERCOME: to conquer, to carry off the victory, to win the case…
TAKETH: to take away from another what is his or what is committed to him, to take by force, to strip off…
ALL HIS ARMOUR: complete armour: includes shield, sword, lance, helmet, greaves, and breastplate…
DIVIDETH: to give throughout a crowd, that is to deal out, to distribute, to divide among several people…
SPOILS: the weapons and valuables stripped off from an enemy…

A DEFEATED AND STRIPPED FOE
Colossians 2:15 KJV
15 And HAVING SPOILED PRINCIPALITIES and POWERS, HE MADE A SHEW OF THEM OPENLY, TRIUMPHING over them in it.
SPOILED: fully strip off for one’s self (for one’s own advantage), to disarm…
Through Christ death, burial, and resurrection he stripped Satan and defeated him.
After the resurrection of Jesus, he sent his disciples again but this time to deal with a defeated and stripped enemy.
Matthew 28:18-20 KJV
18 And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, ALL POWER IS GIVEN UNTO ME IN HEAVEN AND IN EARTH.
19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:
20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.
