God’s Plan for the Church

– We are chosen for a reason, and given gifts of grace, redemption, and inheritance. We are sealed by the Holy Spirit and guaranteed that nothing will ever separate us from God. (Ephesians 1:3-14)
– We are saved by grace through faith in Jesus Christ. We are relieved of the need to perform. (Ephesians 2:1-9)
– We are equipped to be a glorious display of His Grace, and through us, He would share and display His grace. (Ephesians 2:10)
– We are called to join in the work of Jesus in reconciling people who are far from God with our Heavenly Father. (Ephesians 2:11-3:13)
– We have been placed in a family – God’s very own family. He has organized the church with leaders, and the job of the leaders is to grow the family in maturity. (Ephesians 4:1-16)
– Just like any family, ours has a “code of conduct.” It matters how we treat one another. (Ephesians 4:17-5:20)
– The most important part of our code of conduct is that we are all submitting to Christ. This concept governs all the important relationships in our lives: marriage, family, work, and ultimately, our relationship with the spiritual reality of the world. (Ephesians 5:21-6:9)
