SIGMA pt. 1
DEFINITION:
SIGMA is a Gen Z/Alpha term for someone who gets a lot of attention, but does not follow the crowd.
- Not chasing clout.
- They do not need approval.
- They move different.
- They think different.
- They do not lead for applause.
- They lead because they know who they are.
Romans 12:2 TPT
2 Stop imitating the ideals and opinions of the culture around you, but be inwardly transformed by the Holy Spirit through a total reformation of how you think. This will empower you to discern God’s will as you live a beautiful life, satisfying and perfect in His eyes.
JESUS WAS ALPHA and OMEGA… but HE was also SIGMA!
Jesus walked through a culture obsessed with appearances, obsessed with tradition, obsessed with titles and seats of honor — and He wanted NONE of it.
Jesus was SIGMA because He refused to be
HE was TRANSFORMED, and everywhere He went, He transformed everything else.
• HE DID NOT CONFORM TO THE WORLD AROUND HIM.
• HE DID NOT FOLLOW WHAT THEY EXPECTED OF HIM.
People loved or hated Him…
Galatians 5:25 TPT
25 We have now chosen to live in the Spirit’s full freedom, yielding to the dynamic life and power of the Holy Spirit.
THE GREEK USES TWO WORDS HERE:
Zao = chosen to live life with God’s power and authority.
Stoicheó = walk in this very strange way every day.
- It is not dressing differently or tweeting louder.
- It is about being so set apart, so secure in the Father, so savage in your assignment, that you do not:
✅ Bow to trends.
✅ Blend into culture.
✅ Break under pressure.
SIGMA means you are not moved by attention - you are moved by
SIGMA is being:
- Set Apart.
- Spirit-Led.
- Savage Faith.
SIGMA FAITH IS WHERE YOU ARE SO DIFFERENT…SO LED BY THE SPIRIT… SO CRAZY IN YOUR FAITH - THAT THE WORLD CANNOT HELP BUT NOTICE!!
1 Corinthians 2:14 - 15
14 But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.
15 But he that is spiritual judgeth all things, yet he himself is judged of no man.
The Spirit-led believer does not follow what is popular.
- They discern what is prophetic.
- They lead from identity.
Acts 1:4
4 And, being assembled together with them, commanded them that they should not depart from Jerusalem, but wait for the promise of the Father, which, saith he, ye have heard of me.
1. THE WORLD IS ABOUT
SIGMA FAITH KNOWS WAITING IS NOT
In a culture of hustle - SIGMA knows when to pause for power.
Stillness is not missing out, it is a
BELIEVERS WITH F.O.M.O. (Fear Of Missing Out) jump into things without influence.
:: ONE OF THE ASPECTS OF THE HOLY SPIRIT IS HE MOVES LIKE WIND ::
SIGMA does not mean not fast.
SIGMA means
Romans 8:14
14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.
- YOU HAVE GOT ANOINTING
- YOU HAVE GOT CALLING
- YOU HAVE GOT THAT SPIRIT SIGMA ENERGY…
Do not be so quick to do something… be quick to lean in.
IF YOU ARE ALWAYS TRYING TO GET THE NEXT JOB, BE AT THE NEXT THING, GET THAT THING YOU ARE WAITING FOR BY ALL COSTS…
- You will spend more than you are supposed to…
- You will hurt more people then you meant to…
Have you been so caught up in the chase you forgot how to pause?
If the wind is not blowing…Just do the last thing He said.
The anointing does not follow hustle.
It follows honor.
- FAITH IS NOT A MEANS OF MANIPULATING GOD
- IT IS PATIENCE IN THE MIDDLE OF MYSTERY
Faith will tell you to have patience when everything else is screaming panic.
Doing the last thing He said… waiting on the wind to move…
- THERE ARE PLATFORMS GOD IS GOING TO GIVE YOU
- THERE ARE OPPORTUNITIES GOD WILL PLACE IN YOUR HAND
- THERE ARE RELATIONSHIPS THAT GOD PLANS TO PUT BEFORE YOU
THE ONLY COST FOR ALL OF IT… IS PATIENCE.
SIGMA believers do not obey fear.
SIGMA believers follow the Wind.
POINT 2:
THE WORLD IS ALL ABOUT
Acts 2:1 - 4
1 And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place.
2 And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting.
3 And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them.
4 And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.
Power did not just fall - it filled.
The upper room was not particularly anointed - the filling was because they were in the place with an
YOU do not need to fight back.
YOU need to fight forward!
• When you are tempted to get annoyed… Decide to be filled.
• When you want to go off on someone… Decide to be filled.
• When your flesh wants to post, to clap back, to defend, to explode… Do not perform — be filled.
Ephesians 5:18
18 And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit;
THE GREEK LITTERALLY READS “be being filled”.
- It is not a one time thing…
- It is not a one-time upper room moment.
- It is not a goosebump at youth camp.
You can allow yourself to be filled BY THE SPIRIT no matter what room you are in.
- You can be filled in the sanctuary
- You can be filled in your living room
- You can be filled again at work…
- You can be filled in the car while someone is tailgating you.
SIGMA believers do not wait for altars. - They build one wherever they are.
SIGMA believers do not react to situations - They respond to the Spirit.
YOU HAVE THE RIGHT TO SAY WHAT YOU WANT.
BUT DO NOT EXPECT HOLY SPIRIT POWER TO COME THROUGH YOUR COMPLAINING AND YOUR VERBAL ATTACKS!
John 3:8
8 The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit.
That is what it means to be led by the Spirit!
- BEING SO FILLED THAT JOY SPILLS OUT OF YOU WHEN EVERYONE IS STRESSED!
- BEING SO FILLED THAT FAITH COMES OUT YOUR MOUTH WHEN EVERYONE ELSE IS NEGATIVE.
If your response never gets people to tilt their head…
- DO NOT EXPECT TO CHANGE THINGS!
You are just going with the flow!
The Spirit-Filled Man Is a Stranger to the World’s System!
• YOU DO NOT fit their form, because you are conformed to HIS IMAGE!
• You are misunderstood by men but recognized by heaven.
The Spirit-Filled Man Has Given Up His Right to Be
• He does not need to be understood to walk in authority.
• He has laid down his image for the sake of intimacy.
• He is not trying to influence culture - he is aiming to inherit a Kingdom.
POINT 3: THE WORLD IS ALL ABOUT INFLUENCERS -
SIGMA FAITH IS ABOUT BEING
Acts 2:4
4 And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.
James 3:6 NLT
6 And among all the parts of the body, the tongue is a flame of fire. It is a whole world of wickedness, corrupting your entire body. It can set your whole life on fire, for it is set on fire by hell itself.
Which fire are you speaking from?
What many of us do with our tongue is we spit flame.
We get riled up from politics, pain, betrayal…
And instead of carrying fire, we are just flinging it.
Our flesh responds to pressure, and boom we are throwing flames in the wrong direction.
YOU HAVE BEEN GIVEN ANOTHER TONGUE!!
The holy fire tongue in Acts 2.
That tongue does not…
- just react - it rebuilds.
- it does not just destroy - it declares.
- it does not flicker from frustration - it flows from fullness.
People will encounter you and hear God talking from the flame!
This is talking about our holy language… there is a language of the spirit that you can receive for you to pray when you do not know what to pray…
Giving the Holy Spirit your tongue is not just supernatural - it is STRATEGIC!
Acts 2:6
6 Now when this was noised abroad, the multitude came together, and were confounded, because that every man heard them speak in his own language.
You have a way of bringing Heaven’s culture to every room.
The Spirit led believer does not yell louder - they speak clearer!
YOU ARE NOT JUST GIFTED - YOU ARE AN INTERPRETER…

- How do I communicated Heaven fully?
- Holy Spirit you can have my tongue!
