Read 2 Samuel 7:1-17

God’s Promise to David: In this passage, God makes a covenant with David. How do you see God’s faithfulness in keeping promises in your own life? Are there specific promises from God that you hold on to?

David’s Response to God’s Plan: David’s initial reaction is to desire to build a temple for God, but God redirects him. How do you respond when God redirects your plans or desires? What can we learn from David’s humility in accepting God’s plan instead of his own?

The Uniqueness of God’s Covenant: God promises David that his kingdom will endure forever, even though David and his descendants would not be perfect. What does this teach us about God’s grace and His long-term purposes for our lives?

God’s Kingdom vs. Earthly Kingdoms: God’s promise to David speaks of an eternal kingdom. How does this contrast with the temporary nature of earthly kingdoms and powers? How can this influence the way we live and prioritize God’s kingdom today?
