Remaining Healthy
Week 2 - Healthy Priorities
August 18th, 2024
Pastor Ezequiel Gasca

“Pray then like this: ‘Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name.’” —Matthew 6:9 (ESV)

Our first priority is knowing who our Father is, He is in Heaven.

“Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.” —Matthew 6:10 (ESV)

How often do we prioritize His Kingdom over our own.

“Give us this day our daily bread…” —Matthew 6:11 (ESV)

We need to prioritize a daily bread, not weekly or monthly.

“…and forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors.” —Matthew 6:12 (ESV)

We must prioritize forgiveness.

“For if you forgive others their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you.” —Matthew 6:14 (ESV)

“And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.”
—Matthew 6:13 (ESV)

This is not just about you, petition for one another.

“For yours is the Kingdom and the power and the glory, forever. Amen”

Our priorities start and end with a knowledge and deep reverence of the Holy One.

“The end of the matter; all has been heard. Fear God and keep his commandments, for this is the whole duty of man.” —Ecclesiastes 12:13 (ESV)

Notes:

Discussion Questions:

1 – How does prioritizing reverence for the Lord impact our day to day?

2 – Matthew 6:10 shows us to prioritize and ask for God’s Kingdom to come. Is it possible to serve two kingdoms (whether our own, or a love of money, etc). Why or why not?

3 – Why is forgiveness such a priority for Christ followers?

4 – As we prioritize getting our daily bread in the lens of asking God to speak into our lives, what are some ways we can be sure we are truly hearing from Him?
