34 “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. 35 By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.” John 13:34-35

IN GOD’S KINGDOM WE ARE TO BE KNOWN BY OUR LOVE FOR ONE ANOTHER.

9 Love must be sincere. Hate what is evil; cling to what is good. 10 Be devoted to one another in love. Honor one another above yourselves. 11 Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord. 12 Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer. 13 Share with the Lord’s people who are in need. Practice hospitality. Romans 12:9-13

WHAT DOES A CULTURE OF LOVE LOOK LIKE?

1.) Genuine - Love must be sincere.

It is difficult to express how ingenious almost all men are in counterfeiting a love which they do not really possess. John Calvin

2.) Glued to the Good - Hate what is evil; cling to what is good.

Cling = glue yourself inseparably to something.

3.) Feels like Family - Be devoted to one another in love.

Be Devoted = Philostorgos = our natural affection for relatives.

Love = Philadelphia = love between siblings.

Church is not an event you attend, it’s a family you belong to.

4.) Everyone Matters - Honor one another above yourselves.

The culture of the Kingdom is a culture of Honor

WHERE DO WE GET THE POWER TO LIVE LIKE THIS?

1 Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. Romans 12:1

19 We love because he first loved us. 20 Whoever claims to love God yet hates a brother or sister is a liar. For whoever does not love their brother and sister, whom they have seen, cannot love God, whom they have not seen. 21 And he has given us this command: Anyone who loves God must also love their brother and sister. 1 John 4:19-21
