Sermon Title: In God We Trust
Scripture: Matthew 18:21-35

When someone owes a debt, we have 1 of 2 options:
1. We make them pay
2. We pay it

What happens when we don’t forgive:
1. Gives a false sense of power, protection, safety and security
2. Eats the soul, warps the heart and impacts the body
3. Obsess about it which limits creativity
4. Creates generational problems - Genesis 4:23-24
5. Refuses to see others as your brother or sister
6. Leaves you in a prison

Forgiveness is a pardon and a process of life and the christian weapon of social redemption. Here then is the Christian weapon against social evil. We are to go out with the spirit of forgiveness, heal the hurts, right the wrongs and change society with forgiveness. Of course we don’t think this is practical…[so] we must develop and maintain the capacity to forgive. He who is devoid of the power to forgive is devoid of the power to love.
