Review and Transition:
- John 10:27-29 My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me. 28 I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one will snatch them out of my hand. 29 My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all; no one can snatch them out of my Father’s hand. 30 I and the Father are one.”
o Jesus and God the Father hold us in their hands
o Jesus and God the Father are One in Substance (Both God) and One in Purpose
John 10:40-41 Then Jesus went back across the Jordan to the place where John had been baptizing in the early days. There he stayed, 41 and many people came to him. They said, “Though John never performed a sign, all that John said about this man was true.” 42 And in that place many believed in Jesus.

REFLECT
- What impacted you most from this week’s message? What challenged you or encouraged you?
2.What did you find interesting in this section of Scripture? What do you have questions about? How do you related to the experience of losing a loved one? - What did you learn about life and death in this passage? How does this change or deepen your understanding of life and death.
- Read John 11:1-16. How did John describe the situation in these verses? How did Jesus feel about Mary, Martha, and Lazurus? If Jesus loved them, why did He wait until Lazurus was dead to go and see them?
- How would God the Father and God the Son be gloried through Lazurus’ death? Why were the Disciples confused by what Jesus told them?
- Read John 11:17-37. Describe Jesus’ interaction with Martha. Look at verses 25-26. What is Jesus saying? Why is this truth so important?
- In verse 33, what does it mean that Jesus was, “deeply moved in spirit and troubled”? What does His reaction tell us about the way Jesus feels about death?
- Read John 11:38-43. Describe this miracle. Why was Martha reluctant to have the stone removed for the opening to the cave? What did Jesus say in response? Why did Jesus pray out loud before command Lazurus to come out?
- Read John 11:44-57. Why was Jesus a threat to the religious leaders? (See verse 48) What is the significance of Caiaphas’ words?
