Series: Romans – Grasping The Gospel
Sermon Title: Part 2
Scripture: Romans 3:21-24
Speaker: Mike Snyder
Questions:
How would you explain “the righteousness of God”?
What role does the Old Testament (“the Law and the Prophets”) play with regard to “the righteousness of God”?
What has now fully revealed “the righteousness of God”?
Romans 5:1 tells us that we have been justified by faith, and that faith literally means “to declare righteous.” If you have believed in Jesus, what does the fact that God has declared you to be righteous mean to you?
What is the significance of Romans 3:23?
In Romans 3:24, Paul talks about the redemption that is in Christ. “Redemption” means “to buy back.” Why did you need to be “bought back?” How does knowing that God wanted to buy you back affect you?
Do you think that the “righteousness” of God (v.22) and the “glory” of God (v.23) are related? In what ways?
In Romans 5:1, Paul states that once God has declared us to be righteous through our faith in Jesus, we now have “peace with God.” How would you explain or describe “peace with God”?
