Fullness of Grace – Week 5: “Walk It Out”
FULLNESS OF GRACE: THE BOOK OF EPHESIANS
In this series, we will read the Epistle of Ephesians. It aims to teach us our identity in Christ Jesus, ground us in the Word of God, and deepen our roots in our beliefs and identity in Christ.
Context of Ephesians:
Who: Apostle Paul
What: A letter to the church in Ephesus, emphasizing unity in Christ and God’s grace
Where: The city of Ephesus, located in Asia Minor (modern-day Turkey)
When: During Paul’s imprisonment in Rome, around 60-62 AD
Why: To instruct and encourage the Ephesian church to live by their new identity in Christ, particularly in a context with strong pagan influences.
When we understand the fullness of God’s grace, we begin to walk differently. Our walk becomes a testimony. Grace doesn’t just save us—it transforms how we live, love, and lead.
Ephesians 5 & 6
Ephesians 5
Believers are called to imitate God by walking in love, living in light, and avoiding sin. Paul urges wisdom, Spirit-filled living, and mutual submission. Husbands should love their wives like Christ loves the church, and wives should respect their husbands.
Ephesians 6
Children should obey parents; parents should raise children in the Lord. Workers and masters are to treat each other with respect. Paul ends with a call to spiritual warfare, urging believers to put on the full armor of God and stay prayerful and alert.
1. Walk in Love
“Therefore be imitators of God, as beloved children. And walk in love, as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us, a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.”
Walking in love in a world full of hate is an opportunity to project Christ to the lost.
2. Walk in Light
“For at one time you were darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light…”
Light isn’t silent—it reveals what’s real and draws people out of darkness.
Grace empowers you with light so the darkness that once enslaved you no longer defines you.
3. Walk in Wisdom
“Look carefully then how you walk, not as unwise but as wise, making the best use of the time…”
Walking in wisdom means living on purpose, not on autopilot.
Intentionality gives us the wisdom we need to live a life of grace.
4. Walk Armored Up
“Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil…”
Grace is not passive—it equips us for spiritual warfare.
Grace empowers you to look at the devil and remind him that Christ already won.
