‘Not by might nor by power, but by my SPIRIT,’ says the Lord Almighty. —Zechariah 4:6
The Fruit of the Spirit is Christlike qualities produced by the Holy Spirit, deposited in the believer’s life, who is fully surrendered to Christ.
This is to my Father’s glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples. —John 15:8
Thus, by their fruit you will recognize them. —Matthew 7:20
“Therefore I tell you that the kingdom of God will be taken away from you and given to a people who will produce its fruit. —Matthew 21:43
Of course, God is pleased when we dutifully exercise the gifts the Holy Spirit has bestowed upon us. But I think God is even more pleased when He sees His people live out the fruit of the Spirit. -unknown author
I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing. —John 15:5
So I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh.
For the flesh desires what is contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit what is contrary to the flesh. They are in conflict with each other, so that you are not to do whatever you want. But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law.
The acts of the flesh are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery; idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God.
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law. Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit. —Galatians 5:16-25
