
Introduction
This Morning I want to approach our text in two stages. First, I want to simply Observe the Historical Context of the Narrative. Then, I want us to shift our thoughts to the Spiritual Lessons that this marvelous story teaches us.
Historical Context
First, I want us to see this story in light of the events that have led up to this historical moment for the People of God.

Spiritual Lessons
What is the God that you worship Like?
He is a God that Leads (verse 3)
He is All Powerful (5b;12-13; 17)
- He is Holy (verse 4-5)
- He is Present (verse 7)
- He is a God that speaks (verse 9-10)
Will You Trust God regardless of the Test ?
- Trusting means placing all our dependencey on the timing and strength of the Lord:
Is your Faith a living Obedient Faith??
- A Faith that saves is a faith that obeys…
- It has been well said that faith is not believing in spite of evidence but obeying in spite of consequence (Warren Weirsbe)
- Just Like Rahab so the People of God had to obey the Lord’s command to trust him and walk across the Jordan.
